Shopping Centre refurbishment calls for digital signage and free WiFi hotspots

The Problem:

A popular South-East Queensland Shopping Centre underwent major renovations.
In the process, management decided to investigate their network infrastructure, and how they communicated with their customers.

Following further investigation, the retail giant decided to introduce digital advertising signage, interactive maps and free WiFi hotspots.
The solution needed to be cost-effective, user-friendly for the IT team, and most importantly, create a great user experience for customers and tenants.

This major corporation owns and operates retail centres throughout Australia and New Zealand. They specified that the solution needed to include remote monitoring facilities, to allow for management from anywhere, at any time.

The Solution:

The Robustel R2110 was used to provide connectivity to the newly-installed digital signs.

The R2110 boasts Dual Sim features, allowing for a continuous cellular connection and a WiFi hotspot expanding on average 30 meters without any extra equipment.

Robustel RCMS was the most important factor with this solution.

The IT & Marketing departments needed to be able to utilise the retailers’ own software platform in collaboration with RCMS that could provide real time updates, the ability to see all devices working, receive alerts if any routers went offline, provide over the air updates for both software and marketing material and device location from anywhere in the world.

Results:

The digital and online platforms enable brands and retailers to engage with customers across multiple touchpoints before and during their shopping experience.

This allows brands to connect with customers through targeted activity in an instant. The integrated web content can be used to inspire and guide customers before they enter a centre or via their mobile device.

Brands can extend the reach and frequency of campaign messaging, create higher awareness and engaging directly with customers.
